IS THIS TRUE?????
everything i have read says i can use the p28 just fine but he swares that i cant that i have to use the p2p any help would be great

Agreed, on a pretty much "stock" setup you probably wont realize many gains when compared to the $ output needed to convert to obd1.

A better question would be: Why would you have anything other than a stock ecu on a stock (or in your case stock like) setup?
I mean, think about it man, stock car needs stock fuel & timing maps. Any slight difference that the cylinder head swap brings, the ECU should be able to compensate for that.
After doing a mini-me swap (and loving it mind you) if I were to do it over again I'd most likely just do a b18 or b20 swap.
IMHO: save up and be happier in the long run
