you could use it but the speed sensor would feed your ecu another type of signal and that will create a deadly combination murder to your engine or tranny. if you have a b series swap. the car would run completely fine with a p06 5 speed ecu. i should know i had my p06 running a b18b1 for a while and no problems

??? the SPEED SENSOR is in the tranny and all it does is feed the SPEEDO and tell the AUTO ECM When to Open or Close the Shift silionoids on the AUTO tranny.

Now HE has a 5 Speed tranny and wants to use a AUTO ECM the pins for the Shift of the Trans are not even found in a 5 Speed wire harness (at leat not in my car) and the Speed sensor is the same part Number (at least for my car)

so in general i would say YES it will be fine.

Now if he has some Odd setup where he had a Auto Body harnness and a 5 Speed Motor Harnness and wanted to use an auto ECM then i would have to say keep a Fire extinguisher close by cuz the backup light switch uses the same pins on the Motor harness as the auto trans body harness use for the shift switches and that could be Very Bad.

You could run it, but dont think this is a permanent thing.
Get the correct ecu before you run it, unless you need the car now.
