Mini-Me Question: Rough Idle and CEL?!?!!?
Alright me and my buddy are doing his Mini-ME after we did mine with NO problems. Its exactly the same setup D15B7 Block with a D16Z6 Head. After we put it all together its Idleing really rough and smells like its burning gas. We thought it was because of the PO6 ECU seeing on how we are still waiting for a P28. We tried the P28 I am using and it stills idles the same but now it throws a (Check Engine) light.
We tried resetting the ECU and we went over the whole engine agian everything is hooked up corectly and it didn't do this before the head swap. The thing that has got me hella confused is why we are throwing a CEL with the P28 and not the PO6? Anyone have this problem or know anything about whats going on? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks guys!

Did you either take the head to have it professionally checked out, or personally pull it from a running vehicle?
If it's throwing a code with the P28 that it wasn't with the DX ECU, then it's probably a VTEC code.

Personally pulled it off a running engine. Although I had to buy a Vtec solenoid off ebay cause the guy wouldn't give it up. I know the solenoid is hooked up correctly could the solenoid be bad? I will have to check the exact code its throwing.
Any Ideas on the idle though? The Tach dosent move and the engine looks like its idleing fine but the exhaust is making a bad putter sound like its not idleing right. He has a cat back I'm not sure what brand though. Could it be because of the raised compression is why the exhaust is making this sound?
Thank you for all the help guys I do appreciate it!!!
