Mini-ME!! D16z6head/Y7 block.. questions
the time has come for me to try this swap. after debating on getting a b17, or any other bseries i decided to buy a d16y7 for my coupe. i currently have a z6 in it but it smokes badly and instead of rebuilding it id rather just swap it out. when i found the y7 i figured hey why not try the mini me.. ive heard about a somewhat near 20hp gain? of course i dont wanna be gullible and believe the first thing i see but i did read that you can get the best results out of stock parts by using the following combination of parts.. d16z6 head/d16y7 block, d16y8 head gasket, d16y8 intake and exhaust manifolds, d16y8 throttle body, y8 injectors with y8 spark plugs, and an ex tranny. so basically my idea is i just want to hear from those of you who know about mini-me's, because i know there isnt just 1 way to do it, and want to know what are some of your results and recommendations on this swap considering what i am working with. i actually do plan on getting the y8 manifolds and headgasket, arp headstuds, maybe a cam (dont know which one to get though).. so what are your thoughts?

It is about 20 hp because the y7 is rated at 106hp and the y8 at 127hp. I think youre on the right track. I see parts on ebay sometimes for good prices. I was thinking about doing one but im saving for gsr.
