just do a complete swap. from experience i wish i would have done one. if u do a head swap then not only will it be more of a pain but. your not going to have the z6 tranny/and prob have some problems with just a head swap, not big problems but just little annoying things.

do u plan on boosting this engine or just leaveing it n/a? either or i would use the hx tranny. its got a touch longer gearing than the original ex's but it also has steel rods instead of aluminum and its much shorter than your dx or cx tranny u have from the b7. yeah im pretty sure all u need is the wiring harness and ecu from the z6 and your good to go for the install.(as well as all other little stuff that comes with the engine of course)

finally lol. ive been trying to get back to this but everytime i click quick reply, it would freeze on me.

ok yes if u want to go turbo and u do the swap use the hx tranny, much shorter gears and stronger rods than your cx/dx tranny. imo it will be easier to do the whole swap than to do a mini me. unless u want to try and gain some experience that way by doing a mini me. either or i would do the whole swap. yesssssss, another victim is about to get bittin by boost. aaahhhh man i just saw your from cali. that sucks, i heard that have emissions laws out the *** over there.

lol yeah i was about to say 90? umm with an hx tranny u say though? usually with an hx, second gear is between 60-63. where as me and your y7/b7 trannys go up to 70. you could always do what bense did and use a d15 block with a d16y5 head and have like 12.5 to 1 compression. i dont know how the guy did it but he knows his ****, just for search type in like d15z1 build or bense built. its purely up to u. if u have experience with swapping heads and working on motors or u have done something like it, on a car, atleast once or twice. i would say go for it. if u have never done anything that extreme, i would say swap it or get some one to help u out.
