a mini me is just swapping cylinder heads correct? what exactly does this do? I have a 97 hx, and am thinking about putting an ex head on. so i just want to know if it is worth it, will i see power gains, and is it expensive?

i had a 93 cx non vtec 8 valve. i put a si head and bam i have 16 valves and vtec and makes a big deference. that's what a mini me is. it's a mini ls/vtec hense the name mini me

i dont want to diss you man but how is the HX working for you, i know a bunch of guys just said they've just had problems with it

(on topic) well your running a D16y5 motor, its a 16 valve, 1.6L, Vtec-E, and you wouldnt get any real gain, but if you do the swap, youll be getting a head that you can do a lot more to since there more out there for the Y8 head then the Y5 head...

It works good, if i want 37 mpg. which i do, but id rather have a "fast" car than a fuel efficient one.

whats an estimate on the cost of getting a head, and labor for getting it installed, could i put an si head on it?

u can get a good head for a couple bills and put it on yourself, it should only take acouple of hours.

if your talking about the 92-95 d16 si's then yea that would be the best head u can use. if your talking about the 99-00 b16 si's then no u cant use it. dohc cant fit on sohc and vice versa
