Default military guys

Sup guys . i just joined the airforce. ive been miltary brat all my life i got a few questions though. I have a 00 ex now. Im trying to stay state side for now but if i get stationed somewhere overseas besides japan is them shipping the cars over a big deal or is it common? Im putting down travis AFb in cali. Cause i hate the snow and i heard its nice there and its hot. How about smog and everything if i have a swap but im registered in NJ. Cause im for sure putting in my swap before i leave. I dunno if any of you guys been through the stuff let me know . Thanks stay safe soilders

smog sucks in CA. well, it depends on how good you do your swap. you can always get your engine B.A.R'd. it will cost around $1000 to ship a car over here. thats how much it cost for me to ship a 92 hatchback si from NY.

I was under the impression that the military will ship your car where you go unless you cant bring it (like Korea for example). I havent been overseas yet so I am not 100%. Call TMO.

Also I am almost positive you can register your car in a different state and not be covered by Cali smog and laws. Since you are military you dont have to conform to the if you in a state more than 90 days you have to register your car there and get a Cali license. All you need is an address. I remember when i was re-enlisting I changed my residency to avoid 8% Cali tax on it and the JAG officer asked did I have an addy in Florida I was liek Yeah, my dad lives there. He told me to register my car there and get a FL license just in case (I never did, but I know you can).

Exaclty what I was going to say. If you're in the military, since you move around a lot, you can pick a place as your place of residence, so long as you have an address there. You can then pay that tax and have your car registered there.

I love the Chairforce. Dont be a hater. Alot of people try to hate on the Air Force. MY response is dont be mad at me because you picked the wrong service and they work your *** more by 6 am than most people do all day
