miles stopped working on cluster
so yesterday i hit 73889 miles on my cluster, and it had not moved since then, the numbers don't look like they've been moved or anything, but i didnt really look that close, im wondering if i should try to roll the miles back, cause im putting in a rebuilt engine and would like to keep accurate miles with the cluster, im asking how to roll back miles, cause mine doesnt move anymore

At least in california the only time you can mess with an odometer is when you replace the odo. You can either set the new odometer to the old reading, or set it to zero and affix a notice to the driver's door jam with the difference on it. Any other messing with the odo is, iirc, a felony, but IANAL. You can't just set it back because you want to.

U can also just fix your vehicle speed sensor and your miles will start ticking again. It might have just came loose.

Re: miles stopped working on cluster (mike1114)
im not doing it because i want to, but rather because the miles just stopped moving, its stuck or something, its looks like it was getting ready to turn over to 78,890, and it just gave up and stopped moving half way thru it, and it wont move anymore.

That's what I've done for every car I've seen with the odometer stopping.
