Mileage?
I am getting significantly lower mileage during very cold weather. 5-6 miles per gallon less. Performance is all there but it's not as if I'm driving more radically. Stock B16a, I/H/E. I'll get close to 30mpg normally, down to as low as 24 mpg during bitter cold. Normal? Why is this, anything I might do?

Re: Mileage?
I think so to, my car gets a bit worse in the winter, as my bros and other people I know and then jumps back up when the warmer weather rolls around. I sure like the way they run with the colder air though.

Re: Mileage?
they swith the volativity of fuel depending on temperature.
so yea cuz its winter its a different mix of fuel and you'll pry get a little less then avg.
if it gets worse or never gets better then start lookin for stuff.

Re: Mileage?
Colder Air=Denser Air=More Air in the combustion chamber. Since it must be matched appropriately with gas to create a mixture, you use up more gas. But, at the same time, more gas + more air= more power!

Re: Mileage?
lol wasn't trying to rub anyones nose in it, prefer a milder climate, I used to live in western NC, you actually get to see the seasons change and cool mountain roads to drive on. here the seasons go hot as ballz not so hot (dec - early march) then hot as ballz again. Central FL did set a record for cold this year, it was something like 6 days in a row below 60* and we got some sleet, although most Floridians consider it snow
stay warm everybody
