might as well introduce both (problem inside)...
been a long time lurker so yeah.
pics of my DD 96 dx
before
picked it up for $3000 82,xxx miles.
after
just posting interior stuff you cant see...
anyway...just did basic stuff to make my car look presentable.
picked this up for $1500 92,xxx (99 civic lx)
i hate dirty cars...so...yeah.
anyway...there's a problem with the tranny...check out the vid
CEL is on...gonna try to read it tomorrow and D4 blinks. the original owner said he didnt really maintain it and the only real maintenance he did was change the oil. the problem is...whenever i depress the pedal it revs but doesnt move...well it moves...but very little. kinda like when you balance the gas and clutch wrong...and end up riding the clutch. when it does get moving...no matter how hard i floor it, it doesnt rev past 3k on D4. anyway...when i put it on D2 or D3 it has no problem accelerating. when i start from D2 and move it to D3 as i drive...the car jerks. any ideas?

Could be right.
Best thing i know to do is take it to Autozone or Advance auto.
Have them scan the Computer and pick up the CEL.
The only thing the check engine light will throw is 70.
Automatic transmission malfuntion.
Youre D4 flashing also gives off a code, Like a Check engine light. Its a seperate thing for the transmission.
Ive searched the internet alot and could never find Auto tranny Codes.
FYI: If you do need to replace the transmission, All 96-00 Civic Auto transmissions are the same. Unlike the manual tranmission between EX/DX

Last ditch effort incase it does seem to be the trans I'd recommend flushing the trans fluid, and then putting a bottle of Lucas Slip Stop into it and then top off the trans with regular fluid.
It saved my Taurus SHO's auto tranny for nearly 8 months before it grenaded itself.

UPDATE!
CEL was P0751 (A) which is a shift solenoid problem. changed it and runs like a champ now.
my dad and i went to a garage on base cause they had a lift. it was super cheap to rent out a stall ($2.00 or $4.00 and hour). Free scanning and use of the tools and everything. anyway...they had a computer with a program called "ALLDATA" anyone heard of it? anyway...i thought it was pretty cool.
