How about not letting the fuel level go below 1/2 a 1/4 tank and call it a day?

i dont know about that part but if it doesnt work anymore even with the tank full than its the starter. Just get a new one and see what it does. if its still harder to start when its 1/2 or 1/4 full then u might want to get it checked out and see what the problem is but deffinately try the new starter

okay i had this same problem in my 93 hatch. every time it would do it i would just go and unscrew the gas cap and start it. it would start just fine and then screw the cap back on. never could pin point what this was from or never thought to look into it any farther. i just figured it was because i lost the honda gas cap and had to replace it with a after market cap. so i figured it just started to cause fuel pressure problems after i would turn the car off. because believe it or not the gas cap does matter. and i never had the problem before i put that cap on. just try it and see if it works if so go and get the honda cap. anyways good luck.
