Might have a problem with rear suspension..
Hey guys, i have a question... After driving in the snow all weekend, the snow built up in the rear wheels and suspension. Well after washing out the snow out of the wheels and all there is this humming or rubbing noise from the drivers side rear wheel well that I cant figure out.. The tires arent rubbing on anything, just to let you guys know i did rotate my wheels just before the snow.. i dunno maybe its off balance or something...any ideas? thanx

after you drive it for a little while... check the temperature of the wheels/brakes (CAREFUL)....
If any of the wheels is REALLY hot... your brakes are dragging...
It sounds to me like something is dragging or rubbing though... probobly a piece of trim...
My front underspoiler (not lip the plastic pan that "protects" the radiator area) came completely off in the storm...

what he is saying is to go drive it around then CAREFULLY touch your rear brake drum ( or disc) to see if it is really hot or warmer than usual, since your in the snow it might now be extremely hot but if it is that means your brakes are not disengaged........

Do you have disk or drums in the rear?
Either way there are too many causes/fixes to list...
It's really just a matter of being familiar with the proper operation and attempting to isolate the thing that isn't working normally... most times this a lot harder than it sounds... but it's normally do-able depending on your level of experience and mechanical know how.
For things like this it can be too much for even a competant do-it-yourself'er.
If you find the brakes are dragging and you can't figure it out... best thing is to take it to a reputable shop... I highly recomend avoiding a dealership like the plague... UNLESS you either know someone who works there or KNOW (and I mean KNOW) they aren't going to take you for a ride...

What you can do is leave the e-brake off and raise the car up in the rear and try to turn the tires and either listen for the sound or feel for any grinding or heavy resistance.
