Might have found my stolen car on eBay
Never had a car stolen before, so I don't know the rules of the game.
My car was stolen well over a year ago, and this car on eBay seems to have similar damage/parts my car did when it was stolen. Different VIN obviously. Got off the phone with the cops and they didn't really seem to care (same when my car was stolen). Any recommendations?

Re: Might have found my stolen car on eBay
you might have to go for a testdrive before the auction ends
makes sure your 100 percent positive that it is your car. pictures, testdrive/inspection etc...
from there you can present yoru case to police or whanot. if police doesnt investigate it i would go to a news channel. they will care then

yeah, just forget about it. Happend a year ago, nothing you can really do about it. My hatch was stolen 6 months ago and the cops told me to **** off. Your going to present pics that just could be similar or this car could be similar. There is no way you can prove its your car without vins.

ever heard of a vin swap?
cut a square, cut your vin out, paste, weld, sand, paint.
Check that vin on the firewall for any "squares" that may have been cut, or see if that vin isn't straight left to right.
We want your old pics+ the ebay link!

So the car is no longer yours.
Do you know what would happen to a car if it is recovered after it was stolen and claimed as a total loss by insurance? If recovered it would belong to the insurance company if anything, not you. Then insurance would sell it to someone or to a company to tear down and crush.
Chances are this either isn't the same car or if it is the same car, then it probably doesn't belong to the thief anyway.
Don't try to take anything out on an innocent person.
Finding your car or your parts a year after the fact in no way points to that person as being a thief.
Sad but true, you will probably never find out who stole that car and you won't be recovering any parts or the car.
Everything that could have been done with it is over.
Unless you find a chop shop, leave the police alone.

like i said, you would still be able to notice it, seriously who the **** really steels car and still keeps them after they chop them up? around where i live they chop the **** up and push it into a street or alley way, or in my freinds case they lit it on fire and pushed it into the delaware, people only really want the parts that they can get rid of fast
