Might Be Getting a CLEAN 2000 Ex coupe 5 speed
I currently have a 2000 Audi A6 2.7t, and I may be trading for a 2000 civic ex coupe 5 speed and some cash. Anyways, my question is how good is the motor in this civic for boost? If any of you have any insight on this civic i am all ears. Thanks, Bill

Depends on the mileage, and what you're looking to achieve with it. My buddy had a SOHC turbo car that went high 13s on 12lbs i think, but it was daily driven and very reliable. Depends how fast you wanna be, and how long you want it to last.

No I would be receiving cash on top, the car is one owner and in the owners manual there is a repar log with hand written reports after everyhting including all synthetic oil changes and timing belt but the car does have 133k miles

I know this isn't a question of whether you should trade it or not. But I'm just curious as to why you're trading your Audi for a Civic? Has it given you the typical Audi/VW problems?

Ha yea I have had the typical problems to say the least.....with that being said I am also looking for better mpg and cheaper maintenance. My goal would be something like 150-170 whp.

Oh, ok. And 150 whp is a very modest goal, in other words, very achievable. People typically expect 250whp out of only 2k. But your goal is very much more reasonable. Although it would still cost money, it's definitely possible.
I'd suggest the Greddy turbo kit. It's mild in price, very good reliability, and it won't give you 250 whp, but it seems to suit your needs just fine. You'll need a lot more than that, but I believe that's a very good starting platform.

sorry...off topic but didn't greddy just go out of business? I'm sure the kits are still available though

^ not everyone NEEDS 200 horsepower. some people have other cars in which they can have their power goals and their civic is just a daily for fun believe it or not.
for instance, i have a d15b7 in my car with an exhaust and stock intake. and so everyone knows, i love my 102 hp. i also love my gas mileage. if i boosted it and got 50 more hp that would be 50 hp i did not need. now to bring this full circle, i have other vehicles with much more power when i feel like really going.
