I might get a longblock d16z6, doesnt come with ecu, wires, tranny, i think it comes with intake mainfold and tb, and header.. not so sure yet. maybe around 100 bux.
I'm wondering if i get it, should i swap my d15b7 out and put the d16z6 in as if i get a p28 ecu. or would i be better off doing a mini-me swap?
the d16 block is alot stronger than the d15 block which would be much better for nitrous, which i plan to install on. i have my old nx kit from my prelude sitting in the garage collecting dust.
so what should i do?

depending what your plans are. what i would do is take the longblock, and turbo it

nooo..... no turbo! sorry im not a turbo fan. only like turbos on cars that came with turbo from factory.
all i just want is some more power, proably will end up taking head off and shave it for a increase in compression that is for if i put the whole z6 motor in.
then 50 shot of nitrous for a nice little bang! hehe not the bad kind of bang
but other than that i am spending the money i saved up for a H22A which i planned to buy it on first week of august. i have decided to put it on hold until next year due to i am in scca, and finish up the suspension/brake work. (which it is almost 1/2 way done)

if the z6 is in good condition, then I'd just put that whole swap in

well if you want NOS instead of turbo, it will still be in the same concept... if you increase the compression and then inject nos or something, your motor will explode. so theoretically speaking you can do a mini me, but just have a thicker head gasket.
and reason why i implicated the idea of turbo earlier was because its the only way to get power out of a d-series, but since you have ideas already for an h22a then hell just keep stock for now so you can get some good gas mileage until you actually do get your prelude engine

yea but which motor would be better on nitrous? i believe the z6 since its bottom is stronger.
btw in my opinion and what i have discussed with other people, its that turbo forces air in while nitrous does not force anythign, just chills the air.
hi compression loves nitrous, but yes it will kill its life sooner. but if its tuned properly, it will last a while. so my expectation is with the z6 and proper setup nitrous like 50 possiblity do a direct port setup since i can use that direct port plumbing on the h22a too, and try for 75 shot. but with 50 shot it should last a whole year until the h22 is dropped in. ofc i plan to have universal adj fpr, and new fuel pump since both can be used on the h22a too.

oh ok.. so i guess ill stick with swapping the whole motor in. hopefully he will sell it to me for that price!
so tell me, my stock axles will be fine? use my tranny will be fine? its canadian dx model. (my car)

Re: (VTECR021)
D-series trannies are swappable. Is that a word? Anyway, I don't know how well the Z6 will like the DX gear ratios, though. Mista Bone has a good page that has the differences between the transmissions.

im runnin a DX tranny right now and its winds for awhile, but isnt that bad, since I blew my Headgasket im tearing mine apart and putting some things into it including an EX/SI Tranny... But I have to get this marriage thing out of the way first

if you have a complete z6,
put it in.
the mini me is really not as good of an idea,
only thing it'll save you is not having to actually pull the motor. not that its that hard.
just get a p28, they're not that expensive,
you should be able to pick one up for well under 100 if you shop around, and autos are easier to get a deal on, just convert it to 5spd.
milling the head would be cool too.

Re: (Tad)
yea sorry for the dumb question about the transmission swap hehe, but what i intended to ask was if i put the dx trans on the z6, the z6 does not have clutch on, only flywheel. can i use my dx clutch, its got like 30 k miles on it. dont want to really spend on a new clutch right now. later maybe in winter i will.
so how much to swap a auto p28 to a manual p28? how hard is it to do that or does it have to be sent out to have it done by a professional?

yeah you can reuse your clutch,
if they're both honda clutches.. you could prolly just leave the flywheel on the z6 and add your clutch.
but your flywheel is probly newer, so might as well swap the whole thing over while ur at it.
but yeah, no need to get a new one.
heck I just installed a d15bvtec in my car, with a y8 tranny,
and i used my 150k mile cx clutch, hehe.

hehe, what can I say,
I didnt want to spend any more money,
let alone wait ANOTHER few weeks to put the motor in just so I could find
the "right price" on the "right clutch".. cuz thats how I do things.
but yeah.. I dont know if this clutch grabs very hard..
My tires dont seem to break loose in 2nd... and they did all the time with my d15b7...
ah i duno.
