Default mid-rear brake light removal

i removed the stupid rear mid brake light from the interior, the one that butts up to the window. am i just gonna have to deal with a 4x4 hole in the rear cover? does anyone know of a good way to fix that or know of a replacement piece without the hole?

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i dont believe there is any sort of block off plate or anything is because a 3rd brake light is required by law in most states, if not all.

are you doing this because you have a 3rd brake light on a spoiler or?

im 99% sure there is nothing out there to block it off, just make your rear interior match the hole and strip it all out

Why not just buy a piece of carpet (type K or type F interior colored) and cut it to cover the hole?

Center high mount stop lights aka CHMSL are a federally mandated safety feature in cars from 1986 on and in trucks from 1994 on. If the car came with it, it's supposed to keep it.

If you have an OEM spoiler, it will also have a third brake light. Once the spoiler is plugged in, the one inside the car will no longer work.

where did you get that info from just curious? my ej1 came stock with the 3rd brake in the rear window and on the stock spoiler and when the brakes are applied they both light up.

I got that information from seeing stock Hondas and Acuras. The only ones I've seen so far that both light up have had the wiring messed with.

Most seem to have a plug that can be removed from underneath the third brake light in the window. Then you can plug that removed wiring into the wiring for the spoiler lighting.

I've never checked a 5th gen, but 6th gens definitely have only one harness that has power. The same goes for 3G Integras.
