Default Metal shards in my oil pickup screen...

So my problem arose when my car started to lose power from above 2500rpms, and it would just kinda cut out and have 0 power like i wasn't even pushing the gas down. and my oil light would flicker to the idle speed and whatnot. so i decided to pull my oil pan and check if my oil pickup line to see if it was clogged. i was pretty pissed off to see , not shavings, but it looks like flakes of metal in the pickup screen. i'm pretty pissed off right about now b/c i'm sure its flakes of my cylinder walls so if anyone has had this problem. gimme some info.

sounds like your grinding somthing , need to check your cyclinders , if they lose compression from rust / scratchs this will effect you engine performace (lowering rpms) might as well get your compression check

My guess would be either bearings which usually flakes off gold or oil pump gear which is usaully a silver/ gray color. I have seen piston rings crack off and land in the oil pan also, but thats a freak mishap.

It's a ZC motor. Can't you get those for a song? Seriously, even if the motor is broken beyond repair, pay $400 and get a D16Z6 from a local yard and use your turbo project on that instead.

Screw OBD issues .

It's very likely your rod or main bearings. It's easier to just buy a new (used) block than to rebuild a block which isn't really worth much at all.

its flaking off a gold color, so i'm not sure what it was. i got underneath it to check and i'd say about 2mm of metal grinded off by the crank only on one section.

Rod bearings. Time for a built bottom end.

Ewww yup you need a new bottom end, if there is enough bearing in your old pan to notice it, most likley your crank is also garbage. On top of that there is going to metal throughout the whole engine.
