Metal chips found in oil pan and in head
I just picked up this motor (f22b2) yesterday. I took of the oil pan and noticed some small metal flakes. They are copper colored and are flat and jagged. I found the same flakes when i took off the valve cover. This motor recently had the head gasket replaced when puttin on a new head. The on ly thing i can think of is pieces of the old head gasket. Please help me figure out what the flakes are?

I can see why.
Another vote for bearing(s).

Unless the block or head have been o-ringed, I doubt there would have been a copper headgasket on it.

if you had just picked up the motor you really should change all the bearings and put new rings on ....and then put some rod bolts....and your motor would be FRESH!!!!!!!!!!!

Denial isn't just a river in Egypt my friend.
Like everyone else says... its most likely the bearings.
