Messed up idle!!!Need Help!!!
Okay heres the problem. I recently installed a skunk2 im on my 99 si with the stock b16 and after that my idles been giving me problems. When its cold the idle sits fine but after it reaches operating temp it jumps too 1.5k and 2k and from there it just bounces back and forth causing big hesititation and a whomp whomp whomp noise out of my exhaust. No problems when i acellerate but once im at a dead stop its back to it. Also when i have my foot on the gas and let it sit between 1.5k and 2k the car starts to shake like u have a revlimiter. Has anyone expereinced this before. HELP WOULD GREATLY BE APRECCIATED THANX IN ADVANCE

check for any vacumm leaks, make sure u didnt mix the map sensor plug with your tps sensor plug, and maybe clean out ur iacv- thats what controls ur car when its at idle

you need to wire up your o2 sensor cause right now the ecu is in open loop....which means your getting way too much fuel......

Definitely check the I dle air control on the back of the manifold. If this thing got dirty during the swap it will cuse that and also if it didnt seal good. Some throttle bodies have a fast idle valve check to see if this is set right.

Re: Messed up idle!!!Need Help!!! (puffsef)
make sure the manifold is 100% down tightly.
If the new gasket didn't sit right, The Intake manifold seats solid until the engine warms up and the aluminum expands which may create a small vac leak.
If you run the car for a minute or two, Take some brake cleaner and spray it around the intake manifold.
If you see smoke coming out the exhaust and smell burning brake cleaner....You have a small leak!!!!.
I've seen this happen twice now, And both times the problem was solved with this process.
It could also be the throttle body gasket that isn't seated properly, Do the same Brake cleaner test on the throttle body and see what results come about.
Last thing I can think of (in lameins terms), Look at the sensor on top of the throttle body, and the sensor on the back of the intake manifold, Both sensors have the same gray clip with a rounded 2 prong center........
turn the car off, Swap the sensors around and start the car back up again, see if that is your problem..
Good luck and keep us posted on the outcome.
