This may sound stupid, but eh....it's kind of techy.
Helped a guy DIY gunmetal his headlights yesterday on his 99 Si. After all was said and done, he wanted me to drive it to tell him how his suspension felt. I drive a 97 Dx with a short ram and axle back exhaust. So we hop in and go for a spin. I was stoked since I'd never driven the Si before and I wanted to see what an extra 60hp felt like.
I gotta say....I wasn't too impressed. I was expecting quite a bit more power out of it. The car ran strong, but nothing that made me want a B16 swap any time soon. I guess a B18C5 would be a more noticable diffrence, eh? The car didn't feel at all faster off the line than my D16y7. I know the power is in the top end, but even after 5500, it wasn't mind blowing. Kinda sad really.

u aren't going to get that 'pushed back into the seats' feeling with a b16.
and ur butt dyno skills are weak.

Why don't you line up and see just how "not much faster" it is. You also have to consider that if you were to suddenly add 60 hp you would feel it a lot more.

Night and day difference when compared to the B16.

Well of course the b16 isnt going to feel all fast in a HOG like an EM1 [Si].
It'll feel a little better in something lighter
Just a little though. But I dunno about you but i'm sure at vtec the d16 and b16 are light NIGHT and DAY.

exactly couldn't have said it better
maybe something is wrong with his si compression wise

it's nimble with the right suspension, but overall it's not that quick unless modded a fair amount....no torque...
big difference with any b18 though. You'll feel that extra displacement in the torque.
it's faster than a near-stock sohc though, the torque is damn near similar though
em1 = 111 lbs*ft (flywheel)
sohc dx = 103? lbs*ft (flywheel)
or something close to that, pretty close though.

okay the d16 has the same hp and torque as the b16 all the way up to 6600 rpm or so then the b16 takes it but othre than that they are the same in torque and hp

Re: (Soccerking3000)
My wife got an RSX Type-S and it made me think my friends modded Teg didn't feel all that fast. When we raced once, we were even through first, but he pulled away crazy after that (blame the gsr tranny as the only reason he didn't burn me in first).
My Civic felt much slower than my friends same teg, but on the autocross it was almost a second faster.
Just shows you what the butt dyno really knows.

Cuz I'm not a street racer, nor do I go to the track. My perception was all from normal street driving. I guess I was just expecting more. Hell, my suspension setup on my Dx feels wayyyy better/faster than his mostly stock setup (skunk coils only).

ACTUALLY, its son's of bitches, because son is the possessor. it is in the possessive tense, thats why it gets the 's

No you won't. Whatever makes you happier
B16 is nice but without work it won't be moving terribly fast. Especially in EK. Stock EK with b16 in it will go dead even or loose depending on the driver to a d16z6 EG hatch (CX) with full z6 package (z6 headers, new ehaust, p28, 4 wire and z6 tranny).

Since when did the "son" in son-of-a-bitch become possessive? What did it possess, its bitch?
The "sons" is just a plural form, as in sons-in-law.
And since when was a possessive FORM ("tense" refers to time, e.g. past, present, future, present perfect, etc. No such thing as a possessive tense) followed by a preposition? You know what that is, don't you? In case you didn't, it's the word "of" in son-of-a-bitch. And because of the word "of", the possessor is therefore "bitch" and not "son". In other words, if you're a son of a bitch, you are a bitch's son. Are we clear now, you son of a bitch?
sons = plural
son's = possessive singular
sons' = possessive plural
Better go back to grammar school before you start talking about something you obviously do not know anything about.
