master cylinder booster prop valve rear disc question
 

hey
I just did the rear disc conversion on my 98 hatch ran the e-brake cables and everything. my question is will a 99-00 si prop valve work on my hatch considering that mine is not abs??? also I have a integra rs and ls booster and master cylinder. but the brake lines on my hatch don't match the integra on the master cylinder so could I put my civic master cylinder on a integra booster and it would help or would it not make a difference??? any help is greatly appreciated

I don't think you really need the bigger master cylinder.

I see people wanting to do that all the time, but if you have enough pedal travel with the smaller master cylinder, you actually lose breaking torque with the larger master cylinder, since you lower the line pressure.

On my 00 civic, I put in the Si prop valve, but I'm not sure if its the same as the 96-98 bolt pattern.

i was just searching a little bit on the topic and people are saying tht the hatch and the 99-00 si prop valve has the same part no. but it seems like every one is un sure or is arguing the fact that there the same thats why i created this post to get a solid answer.

From info I gathered, 15% of SI's came with ABS, meaning ALL others are NON-abs, and your car is NON-abs, meaning you dont need to touch my prop valve at all if it is already 40/40. Since you are already swapping the booster and MC, try mating the civic MC to the Teg booster, if it fits together, great, should work fine, if it doesnt fit together.......well then, you'll either be bending lines or using your civic booster/MC. I personally was going to go with the SI booster, since its larger than the EX booster I have stock in my car. I would have kept the EX MC since it is larger (15/16 compared to the SI 13/16 MC) than the SI booster would not mate up with it, so I will be running the SI booster and MC for time being.

ya.....its true....99-00 si and all 6 gen hatch (dx/cx) has the same port. valve....

i crossed part numbers many times.....

if u guys still don't believe me.....cross the part numbers your self!

You will only need to upgrade the MC if your changing your front brakes to 10.2" Nissin. If your not, the extra fluid wont be needed. Just bleed your brakes in the proper order twice in a row (Till there is absoloutly no bubbles). If your not sure what valve to use, cross reference part numbers at http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com (a little easier than slhonda IMO).

NO 99-00 Si ever came with ABS. the only "ek" abs cars were EX's (optional) which still had rear drums.
