In the market for 92-95 EG hatch
so, as the title says im looking into getting an EG hatch, and ive been looking around, not to say that i havnt found some, but i havnt found the perfect one yet, and i see a lot of motor swaps in these and what not, and im looking for a quick car, it doesnt need to run 11s but id like it to run 14s at least...so i have a few questions
should i look for an EG with a swap already?
are 14s possible w/o a turbo?
for 6k would i be better off getting a teg?
thanks for your help guys, i appreciate it

Re: In the market for 92-95 EG hatch (Stiffler)
eg's are fairly easy to look for, most are in t he price range of 2000-5000
and more of less you should really look into that car. i think its best off buying a stock car, and doing all the swap, mods, and other things yourself, you know more about your car, and you learn more also, buying a swaped car alredy isnt always the best you might not know where the motor was from, could have been stolen, and if your pulled over, cops are gona be on you like flys on ****, so look for a bar sticker from the state ref.
14s are possible with a swapped hatch with turbo no problem, just make sure its put together right.
6k is more then enought for a teg, or ek hatch if thats what you going for.
try the nj verson of craigslist im sure you'll find a few

goodluck!

first off civics are not sports cars.
second your best bet is to buy a nice stock 92-95 hatch for 3-4k that leaves you 2-3k for a swap just enough for a b16.
this is a proven combination and a very cheep and easy not to mention fun way to run mid low 14s.

Just be careful If you buy another car besides a honda that is used cause you could have hella problems!!! I would get an EG and have the B16/B18 swapped in myself. Thats probably your best bet. It will have a nice kick to it...but not like the fastest thing ever...

WIth 6g u can do alot.
if your lookin for an integ , the prices r still up there. and u wont be able to do much with the rest of ur money.
and if u get a eg hb, the price r not as high as the tegs. just try to find a hb for around 1500 and drop a h22a swap in it.the complete swap runs like around 2300-3000g. ull be constantly runnin mid 13s. (friend of mine has one)

there are many EGs out there with b16 and b18c1 swaps that go for $4g-$6g that can easily runs 14s with bolt ons... if u can't find one with a swap in it already just look for a stock hatch for around 2g... also if u buy a swapped eg, make sure the motor is not stolen.. im also looking for an eg hatch

yeah you could definitely find an EG for round 3k in good condition. You could also possibly find a 94-95 gs-r for $6g's. I got my si for $2800 w/ a blown rod bearing . but the body is in pretty good condition & the interior is clean!! Good luck in trying to find an EG

Re: In the market for 92-95 EG hatch (osideracer1)
so it sounds good and all, buy a cheap EG and do the swap myself, but im only 18 ive never done any work on a car before, and i dont have an abundance of money...so this brings up the question again of whether or not i should get it with a swap already? should i pay someone to do the swap for me?

im also 18 but luckily i got some mechanic buddies... yeah try looking for a car with already a swap, it will be cheaper but check the block # and transmission # and make sure they match up, if they match up, verify with the dmv that it is a legit motor... also bring the car to a mechanic to have it checked out, goodluck
