MAP sensors, what's the difference?
Ok, so the other day I did the test to check why my CEL was on and it blinked 3 times (MAP sensor). I've been doing some research the past few days and I've seen all different kinds of MAP sensors available. I've seen 2.5 and 3.5 Bar sensors. What are those? What is the difference between the two and how are they different from an OE MAP sensor?
Yes, I have searched, and no I didn't find a topic that was related to this or else I wouldn't have wasted my time posting this.
The ECU is a P28 on a JDM B16a OBD1
Thanks in advance.

Just use the stock oem map sensor from a junkyard. I don't see any use using an aftermarket one. Remember some hooks on the firewall and some are on the TB.

on stock engine or slightly modified the stock map sensor should be good
the 2.5 and 3 bar ones are for boost... the stock map sensor can read vacuum and 1psi of boost

2.5bar map can accurately read up to 35psi (36.75 technically)
3.5bar map can accurately read up to 50psi (51.45 technically)
the OEM map can be used for anything up to 6psi without a problem.
if you're N/A, stick with the OEM map sensor.

It can? Why does the car go in limp mode when it sees boost?
Is there any difference between the 5th and 6th gens map sensors?

According to the manual and every civic I've seen, 5th and 6th gen civic's map sensors are on the TB. I have a 92 VX and the map that came on it works fine up to 6psi then it flat lines. (on a friend's car)
are 4th gen civics on the firewall?

Actually stock map can read up to 12psi of boost with a basemap to tell it about boost. After 12psi no matter what you have it will throw a code. High boosters get 3 bar to boost high safty. But that involves getting tuned right away.
Theres no difference between TB map from 5th and 6th. There the same.
Try swapping map sensors and see if that works if not then i suggest just rewiring it up.
