Yes, the stock map is capable of reading 11.5 psi but it's ur ecu that is going to dictate that. U need to chip the ecu.

no 1.7 bar is almost 25 psi of positive pressure.

OP you will be just fine with such a low boost setting.

First of all, in order to rate the MAP sensor, you need to know how it works. Manifold ABSOLUTE Pressure sensor meaning total pressure including the 1bar atmospheric pressure. If you've ever taken a Physics class, would have seen this type of pressure rating before. In this case, the stock Honda MAP sensor is a 1.8 bar sensor meaning it reads up to .8bar over atmospheric pressure. There is generally a lot of confusion in this measurement because people assume that the listing on the MAP sensor means it will read up 1.8bar forgetting that 1 bar of that pressure rating is atmospheric pressure. All MAP sensors are rated in this way...you must always remove 1bar for atm pressure.

TO THE OP: Before you turbo your LS and settle on a pressure goal, you should read through the Forced Induction forum. You'll soon see that pressure is not the basis for measurement that we use. The only true indication of potential (and engine safety) is the amount of whp created. This is because 7 psi on a 16g and 7psi on my S256 are vastly different things. I suggest you read through and learn a little before jumping head first into anything.

Hope this helps

Well people have to learn somehow and unless they were each to take time individually to go through the Forced Induction FAQ, none of them would know exactly how it works. Plus, i've been either really busy or super bored lately...the above post was during one of my super bored stages

stock map sensor can handle 10.84 psi of positive pressure. anything over that it can't read.
