Map Sensor......Doubts????
Ok....for some reason I decided to take off my map sensor of my TB. Now someone correct me if im wrong but doesn't the map sensor have some sort of o ring around it. I mean on the nipple itself? And what are the consequences if any for not having it?

yeah there is a lil rubber nipple that is on it sometimes it gets stuck in the slot when you remove the sensor but you map will not read rite w out it and your car will not run rite i had the same issue w a engine i bought the sensor was there but no nipple under it and my car would not run

Re: Map Sensor......Doubts???? (spooled-r)
Man could this really be the reason why my car has always sort of ran like ****?.....? I mean I have a d16y8 yeah yeah its a D but a have a D15B vtec on my other car and with the same bolt ons and that car runs better and smoother. This motherflower(d16y8) runs like ****. I mean I don't recall if my d15b has it or what not but I figured I was missing it somehow and was wondering if that would throw my map readings off? And I guess it does. Anyone else got some opinions?

Yeah, your MAP sensor requires a vacuum. Yours does not hold a vacuum due to the lack of the gasket hence your car getting skewed readings which can contribute to rough idle, idle surging, crappy throttle response, etc.

It's #3 in the image, far off to right, next to #14 which is the MAP sensor itself.
Best o' health. It's $2.24 from a local dealership, which'd save you TONS on shipping from one of these online dealers.
