Manufactured in Canada?
Just bought an EJ1 from a guy. He's had it since 1998. When I looked up the basic info on it through Carfax, it says manufactured in Canada. Also, the front bumper says "Honda of Canada" on it. However, the cluster is in MPH and miles. I'm a bit confused to what is going on. The guy is just an average family man and would not be the one to swap clusters or try to pull anything shady. Any thoughts? Here is the basic info I found.
VIN 2HGEJ1132RH558623
Year/Make/Model: 1994 HONDA CIVIC EX
Body Style: COUPE
Engine Type: 1.6L L4 MPI
Manufactured In: CANADA

um, think about this.
they make tv's in japan
you get one, is it in japanese? no, why, because its built in japan but made for the U.S. market.
same with vehicles.

Re: Manufactured in Canada? (p nut)
We had a issue like this last week. Basically the poster above me is telling you that there is nothing special about your car. It was made in Canada to US specs. No one is trying to pull a fast one on you.

Many 1990-1995 Civics were manufactured in Canada for sale in the US, including mph vs. kph, etc.
My 1991 and 1992 hatches are Canadian born eh!

Re: Manufactured in Canada? (B18C5-EH2)
By the way are you sure it's on the bumper?
It should be on the cross member itself/upper radiator support beam and not the bumper, but close enough.
For fun you can tell the country of manufacture by the first digit on the VIN number:
1 - US
2 - Canada
J - Japan

Thanks for the info, guys. I really wasn't worried or anything, but it just peaked my curiosity.
B18C5-EH2 -- Yes, you're right, it's on the radiator support, not the bumper.

Yeah.... this is nothing out of the ordinary. My Civic was made in Ohio, as were many 6G Civic coupes (and all USDM 6G Civic coupes). ALL USDM 6G Civic hatches were built in Canada. ALL 7G Civic Si hatchbacks were built in Europe. A lot of (if not all) USDM 3G Integras (including my little sister's) were built in Japan. S2000s were built in Japan.
It goes on and on. Probably something like half, if not less, of Honda's/Acura's current USDM line is built in the US.
