Default Manual steering conversion question (did search)

Right now I drive a 93 civic dx hatch w/ stock d15b7 and no power steering which is the way I like it. I've got a d16z6 equipped with power steering sitting in a rolled 95 ex coupe, that I'm going to be putting in the 93 hatch next summer. Question is, when I do the swap, how do I ensure I don't have power steering? I read in several posts to get a manual steering rack, but don't I have that in my hatch now? Also If I don't have to do some sort of rack conversion on my car, what parts can I lose on the d16z6? I've never pulled an engine before, so this is like a foreign language. Any help is greatly appreaciated.

It's simple. When you pull the engine just unbolt the large pressure hose that bolts to the pump (two 10mm bolts I think). Also remove the large hose that runs off the side of the pump (I think). That's all you have to do to disconnect it from the exsisting ex steering components. Once the engine is out you can just take off the ps belt and unbolt the pump.

There is nothing you have to do to your exsisting steering in you dx.

Or swap in the EX rack, I think it has a quicker ratio. If it does, instead of hooking up the power steering pump, have the two hoses dump into a catch can full of PS fluid. That way as you turn, the rack pumps fluid through and the hoses and catch can keeping it lubed.

What are the advantages of having a quicker/slower ratio? Any disadvantages?
Do you have a picture of this by any chance?
Thanks

If you decide to put in the ex power rack and convert it to a manual one here is a very good thread on how to do it.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=184202

Basically a quicker ratio will yeild less turns to go from lock to lock (fully left to fully right). I have a power rack in my cx now (w/ pump and hoses, i like the power steering) from a power rack model and it's still about two complete rotations from center to the steering stop (4 turns left to right). I'm not sure if the power rack is any quicker than the manual.

Anyway that thread has some really good info on it. Good luck.
