Default Mannybus Del Sol Build

Well let me start on how I came across the car… back in 2006 I bought it from this funky race shop for $300 bucks, the whole car was covered in primer and fiberglass body kit had no title no break system, no motor, no interior, it was just a piece. So the car had a body kit lol I know but I didn’t have a real job back then so I kind of went with it, so I fixed it up and I painted it white (oem color was black) till it actually looked pretty good. So around Dec 2009 some idiot ran into the back of it crushing the rear fiberglass bumper and body kit dreams. That ended the body kits life so I ripped everything off, put everything oem, got wheels, some nice crx leather seats, put an ls swap, and painted it red ($1,300 paintjob that wasn’t worth a ****!) so I rocked it for a while .
Then in July of 2010 some low life thief stole it, so then I was done with Hondas I didn’t want anything to do with them, then came my birthday august 4th of the same year (write that down ) I got a phone call from the police that they had found my car so that same day I went and picked her up! But they had stolen my rims, mud flaps, seats, tow hooks (I know they’re gay but I liked them then), windshield wipers(bosh), 1 floor mat, air freshener, and part of the sticker I had on the window lol WTF. Finally sold the motor and put the shell away that year! So it sat in a warehouse next to the 07 k20z3 I got back in 2009 (yes I had it before I swapped the ls in) and I said one day ill fix it up again and swap the motor in and guess that day is here! So I kinda have a clue on what to do but would love for yalls help, well let’s get started… well I actually stared on it on 12/14/12 to be exact. Btw this is going to be a slow build. (sorry for the the book I just wrote)

My plans are to swap the motor in and turn it on, paint entire car, wire tuck, build the motor, boost ect…

I don’t have pictures of when I first got it so ill put the ones I do have.

When my ex drove it.

Before it got stolen.

The wait

START!

THE MOUNTS

THE MOTOR

And this guy! :raisins:

so bare with me i just started this week :new_slayer:

The way I changed the lights.

Organized the shop.

Before.

After. Doesn't look very clean but it's way cleaner than what it was.

Ok so I ran into a little problem, it seems the passenger side motor mount bracket on the k20z3 uses bigger bolts than what the hybrid racing/innovative mounts take. So unless you wanna drill into $500+ mounts than you'll be fine but if your like me and don't want to mess with the mount than an easy fix is to buy an ep3/dc5 passenger side bracket.
So here's a couple of picture of my problem.
notice the mount won't sit flush even tho one of the hole is bigger than the other.
http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b575/mannybus/E5BBAA5F-3C09-4AC1-A7AC-2611975B854A-182-0000000B3F392DD0.jpg[/IMG]
Bracket comparison on the left is the oem k20z3 bracket and on the right is the ep3. notice the bolt size difference, make sure to use regular bolts and not the two ended thread ones! The groove in the middle will not go thru the mounts!!

Here's the hybrid/innovative mount on the EP3 bracket (excuse the bolts).

Here's the ep3 bracket installed.

And here's the update to the point I'm at.

And she's in!!!
Note: that I am going to turn on the swap first and then fix the body and engine bay, so don't think I'm going to just leave it in ther looking like that.

Ok we'll I haven't been on in a whole because haven't really do e much till about this week. But here's what I've done since.

I bought an s2k cluster and made a fiberglass mold and fitted on the dash, cut out some ac control and vent block off plate.

And I decided to clean and undercoat the fender wells and the bottom rear (I used spray can Bed liner this stuff works and feels AWSOME) since I plan on getting some pretty fancy suspension . (In process)

So as soon as I'm done doing the undercoating I will be changing out all the bushings, Will update as I go.(sorry for crappy update)

Cleaned up a couple of things and made them look decent.

One day I get home to see our street destroyed

Dropped the fuel tank and cleaned it up also. Since I'm getting an fcs fuel tank.

I also sprayed the subframe since I planned on painting the engine bay.

Made me a glove box since mine was broken.

And helped my brother change the stc fitting in his hpop on his f350, these things are extremely sensitive when it comes to o rings!!

My new work station, I purchased a used craftsman tool box

Stripped the car completely so it could get painted.

And I bought me some dry ice! This stuff works wonders!!!

Everything that came off weighed 10 pounds btw.

Then came the paint.

This is how I have to move the car around the shop.

The view from our shop (picture does no justice).

Engine bay.

Friend took some fancy picture with his new camera.

Had a couple of these weekends also since my brother bought a new BBQ pit.

This is where she sits right now.

Started putting things back on.

Also bought a manual rack & pinion there's about a 10pound difference between the power steering one.

How the shop looks now.

Well that's about it, I ordered a couple of things just waiting for them to come in and I also decided to wait on the bushings since I didn't need them right now. Will post pics as soon I get stuff.

So I bough a few things
Got me a ktuned steel braided clutch line, omni s2k clutch master cylinder and arms.

Installed it behind the driver side motor moun.

Then I made a plexiglass table behind my dash and relocated my fuse box.

Also been fishing

Till this came in.
I got my billet shifter, cables and plate I also had to install a k20a2 shifting mechanism to use this bad boy!

Then a bird and it's birdie decided to live in the shop and **** all over the cars!! So we captured one!

So I've done a couple of things to the car I've just haven't posted anything up, here's what I've done.

I re-did my harness with wire loom, I put all HARDRACE bushings, i got my bb delete kit, i got some stuff from k-tuned (I'd like to thank Sean for all the support and great customer service) I got most of my cooling setup and block off plates so here are some pictures.
My hardrace bushings.

This is how I manage to put most of the bushings in.

70% done

Black works Brake booster delete plate and wilwood mc.

Random pic of how it looks when I'm going home from work.

My harness somewhat loomed lol

This things been keeping me busy :/

K-tuned parts :D BTW these parts are crafted very well a+ these guys do an awesome job, I'd say best in the industry! Thanks again Sean.

Haven't really installed much of it, but this weekend it shall be done!

My awesome banner above my car

I also caught the super moon

So that's about it I have a lot more to do this weekend, I will update it this weekend.
So this is what my brothers got my sister for her graduation, I wish I got something that good looking when I was her age

Well I know I haven’t updated in a while it is because I’ve been having some damn tonsil issues for the past three months and been getting shafted by doctors and hospital, so ive been going extra slow on my build progress. But yet ive been working on it, so here is some of what ive been doing during the time
Some stud work nothing major.

I also decided to go with a hydraulic handbrake, no too sure how well this will work out but I will try it. And 65% of my fuel set up.

(not mounted)

So here's a little update, I haven't really dumped time into it just been busy WITH OTHER PROBLEMS but I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

So I didn't really like how the 4-rib belt looked so I decided to swap alternator puleys.

D-series alternator

K-series alternator

Both pulleys (top:kseries bottom:d-series)

I had to trim a hole.
