Default Man...F*ing wrecked my car last night

Well last night driving home, went on a windy road in my SI, first went through three patches of water from sprinklers, went through a turn, accelerated, back came out, drifted 20 feet, and smashed into the curb, and completely spun around. Just put on my Omni power coilovers too, so no bodyroll, + bare tires + wet tires + higher center of gravity made it happen. My engine immediately shut off right when it happened, i hit the curb goung about 40. Theres no visible body damage, but the car was really fucked up trying to drive it off the curb, into a nearby parking lot. Now i just gotta wait for monday to take it to the mechanic. I hope nothing terrible happened, just like axle or alignment

*EDIT* The cause of the wreck was the front right tire blowing out midway into the turn.

That sucks I feel you however when i went into a curb it just so happend that there was a fire hydrant also wrecked my whole car. you should feel lucky and you should be able to fix it quite easily I would recommend a junk yard and you will come out hardly spending any $.

i hope that your insurance is going to take care of it for you... cuz.. a buddy of mine with a 00 celica attempted a 40mph right hand turn into residential streets ended up 40mph at the curb on the other side of the road cuz he lost traction with almost no body damage... just had to replace all the left front components... that bill came out to be around 11K for his insurance co.. so.. yea... best of luck

ooh thats gonna cost $$$$. Expect bent upper and lower control arms, struts, wheel, and possible frame damage where the control arms mount and maybe even the strut tower but I doubt that. Curbs are bad. Would really suck if you bent a strut that you just got.

You'll be lucky to come out of this one without any frame damage but that's unlikely in this case. It's gonna be a matter of HOW MUCH frame damage you caused. Good luck with the insurance company.

wait... after readin what you said did you lift off the throttle midway in to the turn?
i been trying alit of stupid **** around this s turn down the street and from what i lean if you acel through a turn and left off midway the *** will snap loose. expesically when you have agressive suspension set ups.
it also happen to me once when i gas it all the way through a turn the *** just snaps loose.

i have no idea why you posted this thread.

there is no vehicle description, there are no pictures. no specific damage mentioned, and you pulled a stupid stunt. come on now....bare tires and wet asphalt? you were asking for it.

I think the key word in the description is drifted.

Not but for real, I've hit a curb pretty fast before, and it's no fun.
Hope you didn't damage any subframes, or LCAs.

those EM1 must have a real high CG.(sarcasm)

I bet i could of went faster though that corner and not wrecked, not that i would a i try such a thing on public road.

You probably at least bent a control arm or 2 and a wheel or 2, it should be a easier fix as long as the unibody or subframes are fine.

17 y/o + Si = this post.

I can see where dumping your car on coilovers would raise its cg.

This type of stuff makes my Si rarer by the day

i hit a curb once in the McDonald's drive thru. i didn't have breakfast that day (i have the metabolism of a hummingbird) and after i ordered my food i couldn't hardly stuff my face fast enough, i felt like a Somalian or something. well i was too concerned with food and i swerved into the drivethru curb. thats when my Heliums kissed the curb, hardcore.

hope your car's mechanical bits aren't too thrashed, good luck.

so, as you said there were sprinklers, I'm assuming it's for peoples lawns... which means you were accelerating and doing **** on an urban street? That sucks, but you got what you deserve. Hope it doesn't cost you much to replace whatever needs it though.

damn alot of you guys are fucked up... way to kick him when hes down

anyway Goodluck with ur repairs man... if u cant see any body damage and it drives like **** its your axle / bents arms pending on if u hit it from the front or back... I had bent arms in the back once, i bought the entire rear suspension for 150$ and put it in myself. I had frame damage and a body shop fixed it for 180... try not to get ripped off when u goto ur mechanic
