Making sure it's the original engine

I am new to the honda world and bought a 95 civic, this guy said that he did allot to it but as I went through it I noticed that he was full o' crap. anyway he told me that the block only had 30K and that he had another engine in it for the other 80k what I want to know is how to even make sure it's the original block.
