2002 civic lx 1.7l total stock with 41k on the clock, Scantool found no codes, why would this light be on?

um because maintanace is required? maybe that why it comes on

dont they come on to remind you to take it to the dealership, time for a tune up???? not sure if thats true, but if its not it would be a good idea for car manufactuers to use in the future

that is a reminder light that is connected with your odometer that goes of every 8000 to 10,000 miles it is reminding you to change your oil to reset it put key in ignition hold down the reset button on your gauge assembly (same button use to switch between odo and trip displays) and turn key to on (all lights in gauge goes on) while still pushing on reset button until light goes out about 10 secs

Cool that fixed it, it's my daugthers car, I drive a diesel so I know very little about her car. It just got a tune up so I know it was not a maint. problem!
