Re: what will work for my car
Here's the part numbers used for a 1996 Civic main relay.
Other main relays might work, but these are the ones that definitely should based purely on part numbers.
RELAY ASSY., MAIN (RZ-0132) (MITSUBA)
39400-SR3-003
1992-1995 Civic
1996-1997 Civic
1993-1997 del Sol
1997 CR-V
1994-1997 Integra
RELAY ASSY., MAIN
39400-S10-003
1992-1995 Civic
1996-2000 Civic
1997-2001 CR-V
1993-1997 del Sol
1994-2001 Integra

^ Agreed. Pretty much any relay from 88-00 will work (main change was the bracket) --- however, before you look for a new one, consider fixing the one you've got: https://web.archive.org/web/20100109054118/http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html

Re: main relay question. what will work for my car?
Gonna try swappin' out a 92 accord switch for a 97 C-RV, whose performance has come into question; ie. dies while driving. The one for the accord I bought new, but after bench testing the old one, the old one tested good (a replacement 10 years ago). Numbers are 39400-SM4.SR3. Side note. I popped the enclosures off of both switches. The newer switch-2021 was visibly lower quality than the one off the shelf from 2011: Less solder on the terminals and less beefy coils: one for IGN., and the other for the fuel pump. Thanks for the info!
