Ok I thought my main relay was bad since my car would not start and I could hear it clicking on and off like there was a bad connection or something. So I replaced it. No dice. it seems like there is a bad connection upstream of the relay somewhere or maybe a bad ground? It is definatly something to do with the relay since I can't even check for codes as the ECU/CEL isn't coming on when I turn the car on. Ideas anyone?

So your car doesnt start at all then?? Does it turn over or anything? Try changing ECU's with a friend to see if it helps.

what car could be and ignitor or ignition module for the correct term. or maybe a bad battery or starter.

no not ecu its new, ignitor and all that new, new starter and battery is good. It crank just fine and will start every now and then which just stinks of a bad connection. When you turn the key you can hear the fuel pump prime, and the CEL comes on. Most of the time nothing happens to priming no CEL. Currently the CEL comes on faintly and the pump kinda hums but its still not priming and clicking off.

Reset the ECU and check fuel pump wiring.

where would the fuel pump wiring be? ECU to relay to the pump at the tank? is there anyway to check the wiring at the pump with the tank still in the car?
