it does get screwed on but there is a magnet that is at the end of the bolt and it attracts the metal pieces floating around in your fluids.

If you haven't had any internal work done (i.e. porting) then you're not going to see any metal bits.

Actually it's just a magnetised plug. You can get your original plugs magnetised for cheaper.

HOPEFULLY! thats the point man. hehe.
you can magnatize it for free guys. this is how you magnatize tools. works the same way. get an old speaker. the bottom end of the bolt. touch it to the magnet on the speaker and drag it around the magnet. magnatized. its probably not as powerful but it works for free.

I wouldn't think you need a plug like this if oil filters actually work the way they're intended to work.

I've had a cheapo Advance Auto magnetic plug on my motors for six or seven years now.

There are metal bits EVERY time. Mostly a fine grit of metal powder, but there are certainly particles present.

The metal pieces are sometimes too heavy to "float" out of the pan and into the filtration system. These are what the magnetized plugs are for.

Yeah, if you aren't tearing something up, you're not trying hard enough.
