Default magnaflow input needed here...fast!!!

whats up people of honda-tech?

i'm looking for a full exhaust for my friends car, cat included, running all the way back. 00' civic EX. i don't want anything ricey...i want something that sounds real quite during idle, and sounds beautiful when you get on it.

I'M SERIOUS...NOTHING RICEY!!!

but i know you guys wouldn't steer me wrong. anyway, i've looked at the magnaflow exhaust. it's 2.25" all the way back with a 4" tip on the muffler. so far i've heard good things. i'm looking for people that know the difference between "sounds real nice" and "RADICAL MAN".

the exhaust on the car right now is fucked and i need to order something new pronto...

NEED HELP FAST...THANKS GUYS...PeAcE

Hey flamega

havent heard the magnaflow yet, but im sure if you google some test clips you can get some sounds of different exhausts to see which kind of sound you are looking for

i have a 00 ex as well, my muffler rotted off from the axleback about 2 weeks ago, put on the greddy evo2 catback system...its quiet at first until you break it in, its fairly quiet at lower rpm's but really opens up past 3500...not ricey at all i didnt one that rice sound either...im very happy with it so far...

as for the cat, that won't change the sound all that much i left my stock cat, you can either keep that, get a high flow cat, or even a test pipe...if you don't have any other work done (turbo, built engine) you probably won't notice the difference of a test pipe or stock cat, so don't waste your money...check out greddy's site on the evo2 its pretty nice, i can send you some clips of my car if you want and pictures too just pm me if your interested..hope this helps!

hey, quick responces guys...thank you very much.

your greddy evo2 system...is it the full exhaust system (from cat back)? and yes i would love to get your test sounds of how it sounds. i'm not sure how to make that possible...but my regular e-mail is nbr1flamega@aim.com if you can send it to me, send it there please...thanks...i appreciate it. if we have to do it another way, just let me know what to do.

thanks aak for your help...but that site is expensive. did you tell me to go there for another reason? can i hear the exhaust there or something? if you want a cheaper site to go to, just ask....other then that, no offence buddy...thanks for the help regardless.

just trying to help. i have had a thermal stealth for about 5 yrs. and it's still sounds sweet. very nice low tone at idle, and does'nt get too loud at wot. it's more quiet than the evo. it's got a deep, low tone. i've got alot of complements on the sound. it cost about as much as any quality cat back. polished stainless also. good luck.

Magnaflow catback on an EM1

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=603993

I used to have one on my B16 EH2. It wasn't raspy whatsoever. Even when I put in a straight pipe it wasn't that bad. I sold it to my friend and its still good. Sounds very deep (probably from the fat resonator)

just an idea why not call each other up and then rev it up and that way you can hear it for yourself (put phone near exhaust -don't blow the guys hearing now!) ?????don't know about you guys but even if some people have same exhaust some of them seems to sound a bit different even if same exhaust dif. notes almost???or just me

Default magnaflow = nice

just put magnaflow catback and chikara hedders (hedman brand) on my 97 hatch, great sound at high rpms, not too loud unless ur ripping, and very quiet at idle. cant beat it for complete catback stainless steel at $375.

I'd like to hear a clip. I have a homemade turbo kit i'll be throwing on as soon as i put together a conversion harness and get a wideband.

I have a test pipe and was thinking about getting the local shop to run 2.5" piping back and getting a magnaflow muffler. Would like to hear how it sounds

If you need me to host it just email it to jorsher at gmail dot com.

HEEELLO!!!!

thanks for the chat guys. good feedback. a couple things...

-3" pipe all the way back on a stock EX must lose power. there will be absolutely no back pressure. i think i'll try to go with the 2.25" all the way back with the 4" tip at the end.

-i would love to hear the clip! let me know what kind of mods you have as well so i can take that into consideration.

-one more thing...if "rsr" is the "best"...how about going into a little more detail then that. i've never heard of this and you left it kinda blank. what the hell is an rsr?

what do you guys think about the 2.25" intermediate pipe running back? good idea or what? and we are dealing with a completely stock civic here. but if i were to some day get a header added, would the 2.25" still be ok in collaboration with it?

appreciate the help fella's (and maybe ladies). its getting close to the purchase date, so quick responces are a must. thanks again!!!

3" is usually for a turbo setup. I'm going turbo and only running 2.5". Just boosting 8-10psi.

rsr is from what I've heard one of the quieter and better sounding setups. Will cost a bit more than a magnaflow muffloer though..

If you plan on ever building your engine you might as well get 2.5"...
