Lug nut issues

Lug nut issues
So I stripped 2 of my lug nuts today while doing my rotors.
The REAL issue is that now I only have 2 lug nuts holding on my passenger side front wheel, the other 2 are fu(ked.
How horrible is this? And can someone recommend a place to grab a new one (i dont even know what it's called, the piece with the 4 studs that the lug nuts screw on to.
How long can I ride on this for without **** breaking apart... and / or... my wheel falling off?
Advice is nice, flaming isn't.

Thats not safe at all. I wouldnt drive the car, the lug nuts will become loose from driving.
I'd take the tire/rim off, remove the brake caliper + bracket, the rotor, and see if there is room to hammer out the studs. I just broke two off my front drivers side, but I had to remove the spindle and bring it to a machine shop and have the hub pressed out. I have integra spindles w/ abs on my front. I'm not sure about the stock civic spindles, there might be room, there might not be.

Okay, what is this piece called? And where is the best/cheapest place I can buy it, tomorrow. I'd rather not order something and sit at home with my thumb in my *** waiting for UPS. And, can someone tell me how much this is going to rape me? I'm guessing at least $150.

You can hammer out the two broken studs and replace only those, it's not a solid piece. They slip in from the back, and prob only a couple dollars a piece. I looks like you're over torquing the lugs.

I need a motor before I upgrade the brakes. I'll be a rear disk conversion eventually. But what is this called and where SHOULD I get a replacement?

he said its in the front so this technique is not do-able unless he grinds the hell out of the new studs and knuckle.
all you need are 2 new wheel studs that cost about 2 bucks each. use a manual to replace them the right way.

i've recently done it to a friend's 95 civic. you could do it easily in the back wheels, but the fronts have no clearance without grinding down the stud heads and knuckle.

Well, for my 97 LX, Honda calls them Bolt, Wheel - either P/N 90113-SA0-025 or 90113-SM1-005 - cost 3.39 and 1.11 respectively. Item 23 in this picture.
No idea if the p/n is right for your model/year combo, though, so it's probably worth checking out further.

The part is called hub/wheel bearing, its easy to change. You need to take off the brake calipers + anchors + rotors. You needa hammer it out of the axle though.

That is called shearing (off) your wheel bolts. The rusted one looks like it was broken for a while. The recent sheared bolt is not rusty yet. Good advice is NOT to drive with it like that. You do not have an even force holding the wheel. Driving forces will loosen the wheel and it could fall off while driving. If you are going to do it yourself, then you have to take the hub off. If you cannot do it yourself, you possibly have to tow it to the repair shop.

Get a ride to your local parts store.. pick up 4 lug nuts, and 4 studs for your vehicle.
pull the wheel off.. remove the axle nut.. remove the caliper and bracket.. remove the rotor.. Remove the nuts holding the tie rod, upper and lower ball joints on..
Remove the entire spindle.. bring it to a machine shop.. he can press the hub out, remove all the studs, and replace with new ones, and press it all back together.
Why spend the money on a new hub, and probably bearing, when you can spend $10 on new lugs and studs, and like $40 tops at a machine shop?

Think about that.. $50 and an hour of labor (removing and installing).. and however long it takes to get to a machinist, him to do it, and you to get back...
Or $50 on a bearing, whatever it costs for a hub, most parts stores around here dont sell them, so it'd be a dealer item for me.. plus the cost of a machinist..
I'd go the cheaper route.. plus if you've never taking anything apart, like the axle, tie rod, or entire spindle.. its a good learning lesson.

I broke one of mine when I was lowering my civic. Run to autozone and grab a wheel stud for your year, make, model. For the fronts you have to press out the bearing and slap the new one in then press it back together. Check your lug nuts before you put them back on too. I didn't and I put a stripped lug nut back on the new stud. Just stripped the stud again. Stupid BS. =/
