Default Lug Nut issue

I have a lug nut problem.

I picked up a nice little EJ1, and I want to swap some GSR twisties I got laying around onto it. The car came with some gay *** 17" American Racing wheels (or some brand, honestly I have no idea)

Here is the dilemma. The lug nuts on the car are just standard hex nuts, but the hole that they occupy in the rim is too small to fit any socket. I did some research, and I hear talk about "thin-walled" sockets, etc. Even a Gorilla company kit just for this purpose.

However, I took the car to a local Les Schwab tire center (wheel and tire experts I suppose) and they have no clue what to use. They could not figure out a way to get the lug nuts off.

Someone got them on there. There are no scuffs, or anything. So a regular tool had to have been used, and torqued them right. I'm at a loss. Does anyone know what socket will work? Where they sell such a tool?

I just need these damn wheels off the car. My GSR's need a new home.

HELP!!!

you have 2 options go buy a thin wall socket or get a cheep socket and take a grinding wheel to untill you thin it out enough to fit into the whole.

Any auto store usually sells thin wall sockets. usually the very cheap ones. i had the same issue on my beater when i got it.
I'm in canada but do you have a store called SEARS? they have "craftsmen" tools and have all types of thin wall sockets.
