LSD for auto tranny
Hello.
Does anyone know of a company that makes a limited slip diff for an automatic D series? And no, not willing to do phantom grip diff conversion. Too many horror stories. I talked to Quaife, they don't carry them, and won't custom build unless I order 10 of them. Haven't had much luck searching through Kaaz or Wavetrac either, but haven't asked about a custom from either of them yet. Any other ideas?

I've heard a lot of rumors of an OEM LSD found in select JDM D15B Vtec automatic trannys. Unless you don't have the use of your legs though its just not worth bothering with an automatic tranny.

Re: LSD for auto tranny
I'm getting a Level 10 tranny, and a few other choice custom modifications already, the power handling isn't going to be an issue for an all-motor D16.
Thanks for the tip, I'll check this D15b thing out, could be what I need. I'm going to have the power, just need to be able to put it to the ground.
Anyone else?

Re: LSD for auto tranny
On another thought...will an LSD made for a manual fit in the automatic transmission? In diagrams I've found, the auto diff fits in rotated 180 degrees from the orientation of the manual. Would this matter?

Phantom Grip Limited Slips work great. They have been used for over 15 years in the sport compact industry and offer a proven product. Phantom Grips have been used in everything from 7 second automatic FWD drag cars to Group N rally cars and everything in between. The product was developed by a Honda Sponsored racer and he has since developed over 800 model specific PG LSD units. I'm sure you will work as great for you as it has for the other thousands of Phantom Grip owners. Also keep in mind Phantom Grip has sold more Honda Limited Slips in the last 15 years than any other Limited Slip manufactures. BEWARE OF KNOCK OFFS/ THEY WILL CAUSE DAMAGE
