I might sound redundant or retarded here...but check the wiring from the selonoid to the ECU, that's most likely your problem if a known working selonoid checks out.

ya do you have the wires going to the right spot in your ecu also check your ground from the solniod to man you allso may have a problem if theres no pressure switch its just the solniod all depends on what ecu your runing and if its chiped

Re: (eg-owns you)
I had this problem and I had to put in a bigger guage ground wire from one of the wires coming out of the ecu to the body. I forget which color wire, but i ran one one straight to the solenoid and just grounded this one

Re: LS VTEC without vtec (boostedb1810psi)
we wired it into the harness because all 92 egs have vtec already ran to the ecu but after it didnt work we ran it straight to the ecu. my distributor timing is exactly in the middle. also we tried 3 different grounds. groundsed on the solenoid, tranny, and the frame. i just heard from a friends that i have to take my head back off, because i have to drill and tread on another spot on my head. so oil can drain out... is this true

no you just plug that one hole it drains with all the other oil, test you solenoid by running 2 wires to the battery, you will be able to hear it click open. If the solenoid is good it can only be a few other things

The P28 doesn't look for a knock sensor.
