Ls-Vtec Swap Questions
Hey guys I'm usually in the detail or paint and body threads but I need your help.
I'm doing an Ls-Vtec + 5 Speed swap into my 98 Civic Ex. I have most of the parts already, but I'm hitting some roadblocks with wiring, and the 5 speed swap.
I bought a running obd1 Ls-Vtec swap out of a friend's car, but it didn't come with the harness and I have some questions. I'm backdating my car to obd1 for tuning purposes (I'm aware of the state inspection problems this will cause). I'm using a Stoopidfast socketed P28 computer that will be tuned after the swap is installed. I planned on purchasing a Rywire harness converter for the computer. What modifications do I need to make to my current harness for this to work? Will the obd2 d series harness plugs fit the appropriate obd1 b series motor sockets? I'm clueless when it comes to wiring. Don't forget I have an auto trans.
Also, for the 5 speed swap, I know I need 96-00 Civic pedal assembly, but can I use the master cylinder or resivoir or hard line from an integra, or do I need to stick with the 96-00 Civic for all my donor parts? Is it better to swap over the whole pedal assembly or do I need just the clutch pedal? I've heard the brake pedal will give me problems if I leave it alone...
I know this might be a lot but these are the only problems I'm having right now. I've found lots of information with great suggestions, but no one seems to have many answers relevant to my situation.
