Ls/Vtec swap in civic
I have a 99 honda civic lx sedan automatic. My motor finally blew so since i will be pulling it out I want to swap a ls/vtec motor into the car and I was seeing what would be the best set up for the swap? I was told to run a b18b2 block, b16 head because I eventually want to boost it, what tranny should I use, what ecu should I use and when the motor is out would it make it easier to get a gsr or b16 wiring harness and swap that so I dont have to have vtec wired in? I didnt think the d16 wiring harness would work on dohc motor but I am not for sure. Let me know what u guys think and thanks for any help,

Re: Ls/Vtec swap in civic
OK the b16 wiring or n EX wiring would work good. I used ma D16y8 harnes on ma GSR swap n it work good. The GSR head has smaller chaimbers so u would have more compresion witch is good. But do wat u want. Its all good in the honda world

Re: Ls/Vtec swap in civic
Well see my wiring harness is non vtec because the lx has a d16y7 motor that is why I was not sure on the harness and if it was a good idea to just swap that when I was doing the motor, Now if I went with a normal motor which would be better, a b16 swap or gsr, keeping in mind boost in the future?
