Is there something holding the throttle body open? It shouldn't rev that high without air. Make sure your throttle cable isn't bound up in some way holding the throttle body open. I know this sounds elementary, but I can't imagine what else might be causing the idle to jump to 5,000+. You could try to disconnect the IAC valve, perhaps it's giving you issues.

well we disconnected it from what holds the and turned it on and it stayed at 1 k and jumps to three on its own that holder is letting the tb open just a lil bit and makes it rev high..... whats my best bet?
