I heard that ls vtecs get burnt out after about 3 years because something about the vtec causing it to rev too high.. is this true or is it b/s? for all you that own an lsvtec motor, how long has it lasted?

if built properly, a ls-vtec is just as reliable as any other honda motor.

hum you are responsible for making it rev up. Just dont drive it like you stole it all the time. it is a honda motor after all.....it likes to rev and lasts a while.

it can take as much fuel w/ conservative timing as u give it
I personally had mine to 14psi...as rule of thumb you really dont want to go over 350who on stk internals...some people may disagree but most wont

It really boils down to the quality of the parts used and the competence of the motor builder.

Honda has built millions of them. They know what is up.The only bad thing about VTEC is it waste more gas.

Ok I missed the kicker.LS VTEC???It's all about the stroke. You can over rev a lawn mower if you didn't know what your doing. You honestly have to do math with the block. Why go Ls VTEc anyway? go B18c or B16a .they are made for it and you can rag them for years. If you go with dif block go B20.Go big.
