LS/VTEC question
I've just finished a LS/VTEC swap on my 93 CX and have 2 questions as far as I remember right now.
- My stock CX speed sensor has a plastic gear while the gear inside the tranny is a metal one... Is there a problem with that? Will it break or something?
- I'm using my stock P05 ECU, I added the things left for it to be a P28 so I have VTEC now and I chipped it so I can do whatever I want with it (using CROME) like launch control, shift lights, edit fuel/ignition maps and even data logstuff. Now I don't really know on which fuel and ignition map to start on, as a good/reliable base for the final tuning with the wideband and the data loggin. I read something about using a B16 map (the VTEC comes froma B16 head) and using the tool at CROME to take it to 1.800 cc and stuff, but I'd like you to advice me on which map will be a good start or base and if you have one I could try...
PD: I don't know if map is the right word, but when I say fuel/ignition maps I'm talking about the tables, you know, MAP sensor vs RPM.
Thanks in advance.

no, not a problem. you want the sensor's gear to be made out of the softer material, so if either does get damaged at some point, you can just replace the sensor instead of having to crack open the tranny.
