Need to? No. Should? Yes.

If they're cutting you a basemap tune, it'll let your car run just fine, but they don't have your car, and they don't know every minor intricacy of your motor. No two cars are exactly the same, and no two cars will use the exact same tune to get maximum numbers.

Honestly, I got my resistor box off a regional car forum, and my injectors from this guy on eBay. Came with the flowcharts, too, which I thought was awesome. You could try the marketplace here on H-T for both. If you're willing to spend the money, there are plenty of reputable online stores that will sell the injectors, and you can buy the pigtails off passwordJDM. They have cut pigtails that you'll have to solder in, or pigtail adapters that are straight plug and play.

and speaking of Xenocron, look who just poked his head in

Saturated injectors will be plug and play, yes. If you go to peak and hold injectors (DSM) you'll need a resistor box.

Here you can find pretty much anything you need to know about injectors.

Didn't you say that you just installed a resistor box for those injectors?

What do you mean the pistons are shotpeened onto the rods? That makes no sense. And why did you use a B20 crank? It's the same exact crank as the B18a/.
