Ls Vtec Help please:)
ok i got a b18b1 block at 81.5mm and a b16a2 head ,block is fresh bore new bearings new lsvtec hg new . new 9.1 weisco pistons and rings, eagle rods, arp rod bolts, arp head studs , the head has just been reconditioned and pressure tested and all that. also it is fully built and boosted on 15 psi and tuned on hondata s300.
so my questions are is im having that lsvtec loud *** tap in the head ,ive checked my lma's they are springy no delay in bouncing back, 99.9% sured the valves are adjusted correctly, theres no p2v probs dues to lower compression. i know it cant be piston slap due to i just helped a buddy do the same exact build on his em1 and he has identicle **** and his sounds amazing????
and every once and a while when i goto hammer off the line slight sputter and dies for 5 mins???
and ive recently added a catch can using h22 coolant plugs in the back of the block ran out to my can, question is on my buddies his can fills up every other fill up, mine has yet to even have a drop come out and my can smells gasish???
any input or advice is greatly appreciated fellas

double check your valve clearance after its warmed up, I think your suppose to recheck them after the car warms up cause it changes because that can cause a tap that would sound like piston slap. It happened to me and that fixed it. Hope this helps!

i didnt know you were suppost to check it after it was warmed up. ima check t 2marra morning and get bak to ya. i was told only cold valve clearences matter

ok now that im thinkin ive seen on here people has fixdd the smoking problem with a oil restrictor ,how do i actulally know if i need one???
