LS VTEC B16 or GSR Head
Obviously the GSR head is a better head, but if you were building an LS VTEC on a budget if you could get a b16 Head for 500 or a gsr for 900 which one would be a better route.

b16 has 3 stage so you really hit vtec 3 times in every gear

Obviously it all depends on what you are trying to do as well man, a GSR head will have higher compression than a B16/B18C5 head but it will not flow as well. At max lift, a B16 head and a B18C5 head flow within a couple of cfm of each other as they are cast from the same mold. The only differences between the two from the factory is a MILD port job on the R head and dual valve springs.
In my opinion, the B16 is a better option and the GSR for both price and maximum power output.
