Re: ls/vtec? (DOHCtorTHRUST)
Here was my setup before it went boom:
b18a
usdm ITR pistons .25 ob(balanced)
new rings
shot-peened, polished, balanced LS rods
Micropolished crank
all clearances were blueprinted
ITR oil pump
b16 water pump w/ GSR timing belt
pr3 head completely stock
all new bearings and seals
gsr tranny w/ CM stage 3 clutch and ITR flywheel
Locash racing p28 ecu with Mugen program and 8k rev limiter
I never ran it because it only lasted 2 weeks. FPR backed out and leaned the mixture...detonated...crushed rod bearings and destroyed the crank.
I have a friend with the exact same setup minus the gsr tranny and mugen ecu. He had ITR IM and CTR intake cam. On street tires and and a EF hatch minys back seat he ran a best of 13.5 and consistently hit 13.7s.
