LS/VTEC
Well i'm getting my Ls engine very soon i will be driving it like that for a while but then i'm planning on doing LS/Vtec with the stock internals. What would you guys recommend LS/Vtec turbo or LS/Vtec Nitrous or maybe ALL MOTOR?? Also i would be installing a b16 tranny. LMK what do you guys think?? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: LS/VTEC (red_hatchback)
Do a search this has been beat to death.
LS block -stock rods -ARP rod bolts -11:1 pistons(whatever brand you choose) -stock crank get a b16 or b18c1 head and upgrade the valvetrain b16 hydrolic tranny is good because of the short gearing https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: LS/VTEC (red_hatchback)
Research is good...but I am in the middle of an ls/vtec project myself. LS bottom end, type R tranny, type R head, boosted....she rips. LS bottom very strong...Type R head very strong...good combination

Re: LS/VTEC (Jcup315)
I'm also thinking of boosting the Ls/vtec but i don't know if its a good idea with the stock internals

Re: LS/VTEC (red_hatchback)
your gonna have to boost with the stock pistons other wise it wont be that fast.

Re: LS/VTEC (e jay one)

Re: LS/VTEC (red_hatchback)
Sell that POS and put a d15b2 in.
Or use the search function, this topic has only been covered 9,000 times this week alone. |
ls vtech all motor sounds nice... but turbo is always a great boost in power

Re: LS/VTEC (red_hatchback)
If you're gonna go lsvtec on boost I strongly recommend getting pistons and rods and even going as far as sleeving the block. Change the oil pump. If you wanna go cheap go with itr oil pump. And most importantly you gotta get that shit tuned. The motor will last on stock internals...but not long....but it also depends on how you drive and what type of gas you run. But if you're gonna do it you minus well do it right and do it once, instead of going on stock parts, blowing it up and end up going aftermarket. Get it done right the first time and don't worry about it again.

Re: LS/VTEC (boostedhb)
i've seen too many people send crazy money on a turbo setup and be really cheap on tuning.....make sure your shit is tuned by a professional, or your turbo wont even last

You mean, the engine won't last. I dont know many that can credit a blown turbo to a bad tune. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Mr.RHTuner »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> LS block -stock rods -ARP rod bolts -11:1 pistons(whatever brand you choose) -stock crank get a b16 or b18c1 head and upgrade the valvetrain b16 hydrolic tranny is good because of the short gearing </TD></TR></TABLE> Right on the money </thread> |
