I would post in the F.I forum, but as for only having 1000 dollars. You may as well kiss that goodbye with just the injectors, ecu chipping and tuning, and labor to put the kit on since you dont have the tools. Plus you have to buy the kit, or try and piece it together like I always d, by using dsm turbo stuff.

keep saving bro, your going to be like a grand in instal and a tune.
inless your going to build a ebay kit, you will need around 3500 for the greddy bolt on kit by it self.

depends on what cams. If your looking for that much power your going to need some pretty nasty cams which leads you to put better springs and retainers in. Which is more monies.... You may as well just boost it. If you were close I would tune and get you some injectors cheap. just supply the turbo kit and we would get you rolling. Suprised that none of your buddies have the tools to put a simple turbo kit on.

make a list. get online and see what you can get used. Like you could easily get a set of dsm blue or black top injectors for under 100. I turbo mani for about 60 and a small oem turbo off something for about 100. That would be a start. Get on ebay and get a FMIC and piping kit for about $250. Then you have all the little stuff like oil lines and rubber hose for drain lines and vacuum lines. Your going to need to pop the oil pan off to drill it out so you may as well put a new gasket there. Getting the ecu shipped is about 75 but if you know how to solder you can do it yourself. If you can solder just buy the kit of moates.net and have someone do it for you like an electronics repair shop. That should be a good start for the DIYer
